The Manipulator A200
meets all requirements for remote handling of objects and
tools in areas inaccessible for humans. It is particularly
suited for installation in small cells and boxes.
The manipulator is provided with two arms, similar to the
human arm. They are composed of three joints each: Shoulder,
elbow and wrist.
The two arms are installed on opposite sides of a shielding
wall. They are connected by a through-wall tube fitted into
the shielding wall. The through-wall tube is the shielding
barrier between
operator and working side of a cell or box, which may be
of gastight design. The arm on the operator side is called
"Master Arm". Its movements are transmitted to
the "Slave Arm".
The "Slave Arm" on the working side reproduces
these movements precisely and simultaneously. It freezes
in the position in which it, or rather the "Master
Arm", is released.
